Britain on Fire - Ron Arad, London's hottest furniture designer cum architect, never ceases to amaze. The genius who got into the AA without a portfolio produced an exquisite sketch on demand during his interview - now practically runs the school. Hs work shop and studio is divided into architects and designers who have around the clock access to unlimited coffee and ping pong/ table tennis. The industrial shop is a creative think tank with some of Europe's hottest young talent feverishly working away on aeronautical computer software for his latest architectural projects and new unusable collectible furniture. THe latest was his move to take the fantastic MoMa exhibition undisciplined and transpose it into a dynamic space in Singapore Freeport - talk about ecofriendly design. Recycle the same exhibit in a totally new locale. Pure genius.
