Inson Wood Luxury Living: Mr. Brainwash vs Banksy - The Official Trailer. Is Mr. Brainwash actually Banksy?

Is Banksy actually Mr. Brainwash?

In a world of fake art, forgeries and price fixing at some of the largest auction houses in the world - can an artist be considered a fake?  With Banksy's film "Exit Through the Gift Shop" ( ) the world was introduced to Mr. Brainwash ( ) a seeemingly disorganized Frenchman living in LA and making a documentary about street artists such as Banksy and Shepard Fairey and other less knowns Keith Haring, Invader etc.

Mr. Brainwash "Captain America" is said to be one of his most important pieces due to the fact that he introduced a creative aspect actually clawing the poster with his otherwords the artist made this with his own hands.

The camera turns on Mr. Brainwash aka Thierry Guetta and suddenly he becomes the star of the film creating an immense amount of work - some of it light hearted, but other pieces quite powerful and moving.  As he proceeds to launch an Herculean and monumental 10,000 sf art exhibition, Mr. Brainwash approach remains flippant and typically attitudinal - almost as if the director is goading the audience to join in making fun of our main character - Mr. Brainwash.

Eventually the movie gets to the real question - can an artist, and more importantly should an artist become famous without the requisite travails of a young artist struggling to survive for years before having a big show.  Mr. Brainwash has the show - and the pieces sell out - Banksy is shocked and writes off Mr. Brainwash's success as flash in the pan and unwarranted.

Ultimately, however, Mr. Brainwash proves that his slogans "Never Give Up" and "Follow Your Dreams" are powerful ideas leading to the realization, at least in his case, that: " Anyone can be an artist."   - Ecomanta
